Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the BuildBane platform operated by BuildBane ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using BuildBane, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BuildBane. By using the platform, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when registering. You may not create accounts to impersonate others or to circumvent a prior ban. Notify us immediately at support@buildbuddies.ca if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

You own the content you post on BuildBane — projects, posts, descriptions, and messages. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute it as necessary to operate the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe third-party rights. We do not claim ownership of anything you post.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, or fraudulent
• Spam other users or post unsolicited promotional content
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract platform data without permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems
• Use the platform to recruit for roles unrelated to your posted project
• Impersonate any person or organisation

5. Moderation and termination

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or that we determine is harmful to the community, without prior notice. We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations. If your account is terminated, you may not create a new one without our permission.

6. Disclaimers

BuildBane is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any bugs will be fixed on a particular timeline. We are not responsible for any collaborations, agreements, or disputes that arise between users.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuildBane will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of BuildBane. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, since the platform is free, is $0).

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of BuildBane after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
